James Clough Gist III (born October 26, 1986 in İncirlik, Adana, Turkey[2]) is an American professional basketball player. He is 6'9" 235 pounds.[3] He currently plays with Turkish basketball team Fenerbahçe Ülker.[4][5]

Gist attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. He played college basketball with the Maryland Terrapins.[6]
Gist was drafted 57th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs. After a spending a year with Italian League club Angelico Biella,[7] Gist signed a contract with Lokomotiv-Kuban of Russian League for the 2009–10 season.[8]
Gist played for the Spurs in the 2010 NBA Summer League,[9] but was waived on October 19, 2010.[10]
Then he played for Partizan mt:s for 2010-11 season where he won League and Cup championships of Serbia and Adriatic League.
He is son of Linda and James C. Gist, Jr. and born in İncirlik, Adana, Turkey on 26 October 1986 when his father was in the Air Force stationed at İncirlik Air Base.[11] He is the first American child who was born in İncirlik Air Base.[12]
